Each year, 4 million babies are born in the United States. An estimated 30% of the new mothers suffer from post partum depression after giving birth. The depression can last for several months and range from mild to severe. Sometimes called, new baby blues, the mothers exhibit a broad range of symptoms that range from mild depression to more extreme reactions including totally ignoring the new born, not responding to familial support, etc. Traditionally, thesenew mothers have received little help except for those new mothers who become morbidly depressed. These extreme cases are often hospitalized, etc. Generally, little is done for new mothers suffering post partumdepression. For Mommy’s Helper, Inc. is dedicated exclusively to helping new mothers adjust as they make the transition from pregnancy to motherhood, during the first six to eight weeks after childbirth. Our business concept is based on documented research, conductedby the US Department of Health that postpartum depression can be substantially lowered when new mothers are supported and shown a little extra attention after childbirth. Our specialized brand of non-medical personal and pampered care services is designed to reducestress, fatigue and to help prevent exhaustion, which are known triggers of postpartum depression. For Mommy's Helper provides emotional support and offers necessary assistance to restore balance and normality to the home and ultimately provide new mothers with opportunities for much needed additional rest for several transitional months.
